Hello Spring!

I finished this painting ("Pulelehua") on time to celebrate the arrival of spring. Hopefully, we will all fly freely again soon.

Pulelehua is the Hawaiian word for butterfly in general. But this painting portraits three Kamehameha Butterflies graciously flying.

The Kamehameha Butterfly is one of the two endemic butterflies of Hawaii and, in 2009, was named the state insect.
