Hello Spring!

I finished this painting ("Pulelehua") on time to celebrate the arrival of spring. Hopefully, we will all fly freely again soon after the pandemic.

Pulelehua is the Hawaiian word for butterfly in general. But this painting portrays three Kamehameha Butterflies graciously flying.

The Kamehameha Butterfly is one of Hawaii's two endemic butterflies and was named the state insect in 2009.
